Good garment fit starts with three simple questions:

Who will be wearing it? Where will they be? And what will they be doing?

Answering these questions properly helps create clothing that works for the person wearing it and keeps them coming back.

And that matters. For smaller and niche fashion brands, getting fit right is about much more than avoiding a return. Your fit is part of your brand. It can be one of the things that sets you apart, gives your customers confidence to buy and makes them want to tell other people about you.

Returns are an increasingly accepted part of online shopping, with customers often buying several sizes with the intention of sending some back. But for smaller brands, the cost of getting fit wrong can be significant - financially, environmentally and in terms of customer trust.

For over two decades, I have worked across roles in pattern cutting, block development, grading, fit analysis and troubleshooting, manufacturing and quality control.
I’ve collaborated with startup innovators focused on fit and established retailers, including M&S, LK Bennett, Jaeger, Bravissimo and Next.

Good design is the reason that people buy, and the technical input behind it should be there to make the product even better. I help brands make clothing that fits, that their customers want to buy, keep, and wear for a long time.

I am based in Stockport and work remotely with companies worldwide, and in person with brands in the Greater Manchester area.
